FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bethlehem, November 4, 2016 – The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter will observe AFSP’s International Survivors of Suicide Day on Saturday, November 19.
This 18th annual event will be held at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg in Bethlehem from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the one day a year when people affected by suicide loss gather around the world at events in their local communities to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope.
Check-in and registration will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a screening of “Life Journeys: Reclaiming Life after Loss,” a new AFSP-produced documentary that traces grief and the healing journey that follows a suicide loss over time. Following the film, members of AFSP – Greater Lehigh Valley will facilitate a discussion for those who want to participate.
The event is free, refreshments will be served, and participants can bring a photo of their loved ones to place on a memorial table.
