AFSP: Ride For A Voice – Suicide prevention Sept. 26

Ride for a VoiceAllentown, September 11, 2015 – Ride For A Voice, a memorial motorcycle run sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter, will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015. The rain date is Sunday, September 27.

This third annual memorial motorcycle run will begin and end at Becky’s Drive-In in Walnutport. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the motorcycle ride starts at 12 noon. All types of motorcycles are welcome. Registration costs $25 for a single and $40 for a double (two riders on a motorcycle).

This special event is organized by local AFSP board member Marie Bartos in memory of her late husband, Patrolman Stephen J. Milkovits III of the Northampton Borough Police Department. All proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Participants will raise awareness of suicide prevention, break the stigma, honor loved ones lost to suicide and aim to save lives.

There also will be live entertainment, rider door prizes, a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle. Also, for the first time this year, there will be vendor spaces at $10 each for participants to sell used motorcycle parts and related items. Participants need to bring their own tables, but they can make money while helping a worthy cause.
